At the NMIT Student Massage / Myotherapy Clinic, students gain experience in relaxation/therapeutic, remedial massage, myotherapy and general clinical practice. Massage/myotherapy appointments are for one hour (including time for students to make a client clinical assessment prior to commencing therapy).

The NMIT Student Massage / Myotherapy Clinic is open to NMIT Staff, NMIT Students and the General Public.

Bookings are Required.


Hours

Aromatherapy

NMIT's Aromatherapy student clinic recommences in Semester two on Wednesday 14 July.

Indulge yourself for a one and a half hour, personalised treatment where you could enjoy an aromatherapy hand or foot bath followed by a fabulous full body relaxation massage with 100% pure essential oils individually selected for you.

Myotherapy

Myotherapy clinic recommences on Thursday 18 March.
Myotherapy students will offer one-hour appointments to treat common muscular conditions.
Treatments may include:

  • Therapeutic Exercises
  • Taping
  • Cupping
  • Myofascial Dry Needling
  • Thermal Therapies
  • Electrical Stimulation
  • Moxibustion
  • Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy
  • Remedial Massage

Relaxation and Therapeutic Massage

Second year Diploma students will offer one hour remedial treatments which may include:
  • Relaxation/Therapeutic/Remedial Massage
  • Minor Treatments

Cost

Please Note: The NMIT Student Massage Clinic does not operate during school holidays or public holidays. Children between the ages of 5-18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Cancellation

Two Days Cancellation Notice

Without your participation our students would not be able to gain the essential experience that they need in a clinic environment. It is for this reason that we keep the cost to a minimum and have enabled clients to book well in advance in order to maintain a place in the programme.

Cancellations without adequate notice affects our student training considerably and means that people on our waiting list have no opportunity to attend because of the lack of notice.

We therefore ask all clients to carefully record their appointments and to give us at least two days cancellation notice. The office is not always attended but does have an answering service.
