At the NMIT Student Clinic students gain experience in Relaxation/Therapeutic, Remedial Massage, Myotherapy, Aromatherapy and general clinical practice. Clinic appointments at our clinic range from 1 hour to 1 ½ hours depending on the treatment (this booking includes time for students to make a client clinical assessment prior to commencing treatment).
The NMIT Student Massage / Myotherapy /Aromatherapy Clinic is open to NMIT Staff, NMIT Students and the General Public.

Treatments Available
Relaxation Massage
Massage is the systematic, therapeutic use of touch to either invigorate or relax the muscles of the body to promote healing, relaxation and relieve stress.
Benefits of Massage:
- Decrease anxiety

- Relaxes muscles
- Improves range of motion
- Pain reduction
First year Certificate students will offer one hour relaxation/therapeutic massage treatment.
Remedial Massage
Second year Diploma students will offer one hour remedial massage treatments which may include:
- Relaxation / Therapeutic / Remedial Massage
Aromatherapy Massage
Indulge yourself for a one and a half hour personalised treatment where you will enjoy an aromatherapy foot bath or steam inhalation followed by a fabulous full body relaxation massage with 100% pure essential oils individually selected for you.
Treatments may include:
- A relaxation massage using essential oils
- A steam inhalation
- A foot spa
Myotherapy Massage
Myotherapy offers a one hour massage treatment using various techniques (which may include, cupping, moxa, dry needling) to relieve muscular pain. It works by eliminating trigger points.
Benefits of Myotherapy:
- Enhances the function of joints and muscles.
- Improves range of movement.
- Relives pain, swelling, stiffness.

Parking
The student car park is available only to currently enrolled student who hold a student parking permit (fines apply for parking on campus). Parking is available in the streets surrounding the campus.
Cost
Relaxation / Remedial Massage: $20 for one hour
Myotherapy Massage: $20 for one hour
Aromatherapy Massage: $25 for one and a half hours
Please Note: The NMIT Student Massage Clinic does not operate during school holidays or public holidays. Children between the ages of 5-18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Cancellation
Two Days Cancellation Notice
Without your participation our students would not be able to gain the essential experience that they need in a clinic environment. It is for this reason that we keep the cost to a minimum and have enabled clients to book well in advance in order to maintain a place in the programme.
Cancellations without adequate notice affects our student training considerably and means that people on our waiting list have no opportunity to attend because of the lack of notice.
We therefore ask all clients to carefully record their appointments and to give us at least two days cancellation notice.
