NMIT is the largest provider of training to the agriculture sector in Victoria with courses delivered from the Epping Campus located on Melbourne's northern rural fringe.
Epping Campus is home to award winning cattle, welding workshops, and a forklift training area. The Agriculture and Animal Studies Department is based at Epping along with the Primary Industries Department which delivers Higher Education programs in Agriculture and Land Management, Equine Studies, and Viticulture and Winemaking.
As well as all the Agriculture, Equine, and Viticulture and Winemaking courses, Epping Campus offers a wide variety of training in Accounting, Aquaculture, Painting and Decorating, Plastering, Civil Construction, Computer Systems and Electrotechnoloy, Conservation and Land Management, English as a Second Language, Legal and Justice, Meat Processing, Plumbing, Renewable Energy, Roof Tiling, Transport and Logistics, Visual Arts, and Warehousing.

Student Centre (Building M)
In February 2012 the new Student Centre was officially opened. It houses the new Bookshop and Library (Bookshop and Library Opening Hours) and new NMIT Fitness Centre.
Green Skills Centre of Excellence
NMIT’s Epping Campus is also home to the new Green Skills Centre of Excellence. Custom built in 2010-2011, the centre sets a new standard for training in environmentally sustainable practices across a wide selection of industry sectors including manufacturing, construction, training, retail, installation, repair and maintenance.
The new Centre provides learning and skills development in Sustainability and environmentally sustainable practices and technologies including carbon trading, solar power and water heating, wind power generation, geothermal exchange heating and cooling, black and grey water treatment, rainwater harvesting, waste management and recycling, water resource management for horticulture, and agricultural and horticultural land conservation.
The five-star energy rated building embodies many of the environmentally sustainable principles that will be taught within it.






Nearby are three of NMIT's impressive specialist training centres, the Northern Lodge farm at Yan Yean; Northern Lodge Eden Park, a 60 hectare horse stud; and the Growling Frog Vineyard.



The NMIT Green Skills Centre is registered under the Green Building Council of Australia's industry recognised "GreenStar" assessment tool for a 5 Star Rating. This represents "Australian Excellence" in the design of an Education Facility. Watch a short video about the building:
