Offshore Programs
NMIT is one of Victoria's largest providers of vocational education and training, and offers a diverse range of around 500 government- accredited vocational courses on both full-time and part-time basis. There are more than 28,000 students from Australia and from 53 other countries currently enrolled at NMIT campuses.
International visitors regularly visit NMIT to exchange current information and knowledge, giving NMIT up-to-date information about trends in education in the region and the opportunity to contribute to the globalization of education.
NMIT has well-established links with training institutions in key industries in the region, notably in the thoroughbred racing industry and is also developing academic and exchange links with other tertiary institutions beyond the region, including the Americas.
NMIT has a long history of successful large-scale international programs, most notably in China where programs began in 1995. NMIT is currently the largest Australian vocational education and training provider in China, delivering English language training and a broad range of Australian diploma courses.
Substantial programs involving several hundred students are offered in Hong Kong and Korea . NMIT is in active discussion with institutions and policy makers in other countries in the region to roll out highly-regarded Australian training to meet emerging high demands for work-ready graduates.
NMIT currently offers diplomas in information technology, financial services, marketing, horticulture, management, international trade, computer systems, hospitality, community welfare, building and event management in cooperation with partner institutions in Asian countries. Students who successfully complete all the requirements of the diploma can apply to continue their studies in Australia and gain credits for one year of a degree course, either at NMIT or partner universities.
