Depending on the course you wish to study at NMIT, you will apply either directly or via VTAC, the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre.
VTAC Applications
Many Certificate IV – Advanced Diploma and Bachelor level programs on full time loading require an application via VTAC. Please refer to the online course listing to check on the application method for your preferred course. Use the course search function to quickly find your course
VTAC applications must be made online at www.vtac.edu.au Timely applications open in early August and close late September. Timely applicants will pay a one off fee of $23 while students who apply after this date will incur a late fee.

Direct Applications
Applications for Certificate I – III level programs should always go directly to NMIT. This is applicable to both part time and full time course loading.
Certificate IV – Advanced Diploma and Bachelor level programs on part time loading will also require direct applications. Please note that many high level TAFE programs and Bachelor programs will also require direct applications. Please refer to the online course listing to check on the application method for your preferred course. Use the course search function to quickly find your course.
Future students can apply online for any courses requiring direct application. Use the Apply Now function to submit your application.
All midyear applications should be made directly to NMIT.
Some courses have extra requirements. Before applying, please check the entrance requirements for the course you are interested in under 'find a course' or by contacting the department.
