The Helping People Look and Feel Great panel at the recent NMIT Super Thursday Careers Night provided some great advice to attendees about pursuing a career in the beauty industry.

The Helping People Look and Feel Great session featured an industry professional:
- Cheryl La Greca Markov: Beautician and Beauty Teacher, NMIT
Here are the top 3 outcomes of the beauty session:
- You can travel with beauty qualifications – work anywhere in the world in exotic locations/spas (Maldives, cruise liners, etc)
- Presentation is important (ie look professional, dress professional, feel professional) and reassures the client you know what you are doing and they will get good service
- Build on customer service skills – part time retail jobs, casual work, volunteer work etc – each job teaches you how to deal with clients
NMIT offers a range of Beauty diplomas and certificates for people interested a real career in beauty. Students also get hands on training in the Beauty Salon open to the public.
