It is essential that online students have access to and confidence with computers, the Internet and other necessary technology. Due to the amount of video and audio files in this course, ADSL or broadband Internet access is required. Students wanting to enrol into online units must have access to the following minimum technology requirements: Software • Web browser (Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher; Netscape 6.0 or higher, Firefox 1.0 or higher, Safari 1.0 or higher) • Macromedia flash player 8 • Windows media player / Apple QuickTime 6 • Sibelius 5 (provided to students enrolling into Arranging 1 and Songwriting) • Windows media player / Apple QuickTime 6 Hardware • PC Users - Windows XP SP@ 32-bit or windows Vista 32-bit • Mac Users OS 10.4.9 or later • 512 MB+ RAM or higher recommended, 350 MB hard disk space • Sound Card • A pronter (recommended) • A scanner is required if you wish to transfer hand written scores into digital files.
