Our Business programs are designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and high-level vocational skills in business, with a management and international trade focus, in order to meet the needs of local and multinational organisations and the broader business community.
NMIT's Associate Degree of Business is a newly accredited two-year higher education qualifcation designed to meet the needs of industry and business for skilled and knowledgeable para-professionals and business specialists. Graduates may seek employment in areas such as management, marketing, human resources, international trade, logistics management or commerce.
The Associate Degree provides graduates with flexibility and an earlier exit point than traditional degree courses. This qualification is ideal for those currently in the workforce wishing to upgrade their qualifications or new entrants wishing to gain a higher education qualification in as little as two years.
Graduates of the Associate Degree of Business are practical, solutions-oriented and able to make a meaningful contribution to their profession.
Students may also articulate directly into a Bachelor of Business by undertaking an additional year of study.

Entrance Requirements
Local Students:
Successful completion of Year 12 VCE (or equivalent with English), or successful completion of a minimum TAFE diploma or other higher education course (any). Relevant industry or life experience that demonstrates capacity to undertake study at degree level.
International Students:
Successful completion of studies equivalent to Australian Year 12 education or relevant employment experience. English language proficiency equivalent to Academic IELTS overall band score of 6.0.Materials

Units of Study
Credit points are a basic measure of student workload. All subjects are given a credit point value. Most subjects at NMIT are 12 credit points. A normal full-time annual workload is 96 credit points. The academic year is divided into two main semesters; full-time students usually enrol in 48 credit points each semester, part time students usually enrol in 24 credit points each semester or less.
