Share a world of knowledge with young children
Do you love working with young children? Would you like to work as a teacher with children in a pre-school or primary setting?
The Bachelor of Education (Early Years) is ideal for those that want to work with young children and is awarded after successful completion of an additional year after the Bachelor of Early Years Studies or two years after the Associate Degree of Early Years Studies.
The four year course:
- provides the skills and industry qualifications to be employed as a teacher across the early years spectrum (the early years of a child’s life are defined as from birth to 8 years)
- provides excellent practical skills developed through an integrated program with a mixture of on campus learning and professional placement each week
- provides dual teacher registration. Qualifies graduates for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) - the registration body for teachers. It also qualifies graduates as a kindergarten teacher to work within a range of children’s services including kindergarten (registered with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) and recognised by Early Childhood Australia (ECA))
- covers very contemporary material – there is a strong focus on social justice and equity, covering multiple perspectives and educational spaces
- has multiple exit points and provides graduates with a flexible and practical qualification. Students who have successfully completed the first two years of the bachelor degree may choose to exit with the Associate Degree of Early Years Studies qualification, or the Bachelor of Early Years Studies after three years of study
- is a supportive program with a personal approach that recognises students as individuals
- is also available part time (eight years)
