This Certificate I in Vocational Preparation is offered through the Youth Unit.
This course is designed for young people seeking vocational training who also need to improve their literacy and numeracy skills. Develop your communication skills for the workplace, while enhancing your confidence and employment options.

- reading and writing
- numeracy
- interpersonal skills
The course is suited to learners wanting a pre-apprenticeship or bridging program into further vocational training.
Please note: This is not a VCAL program; however, students may be eligible for credits towards a VCAL certificate. Our VCAL programs and the models we use are highly regarded for successfully linking young people back into education and training.
NMIT also offers the Certificate I in Vocational Preparation through the Vocational Pathways and Foundation Studies departments.
