This is an intensive training program designed to give trainees the skills and knowledge necessary to be productive onsite.
Trainees work on full size projects of varying degree, in NMIT's specially designed workshops. Successful completion of this certificate will lead the trainee into Certificate III in General Construction (Bricklaying/Blocklaying) Apprenticeship.

On successful completion of this course, participants will be granted 480 hours of credit in the Certificate III in General Construction (Bricklaying/Blocklaying) Apprenticeship.

Graduates of this course may gain employment in the bricklaying area of the building industry as a trainee in an Australian Apprenticeship.
Entrance Requirements
There are no formal entrance requirements. Applications from sponsored students are invited at any time. Places are also available for a limited number of unsponsored applicants. Applicants will be advised of interviews and intake tests which will be arranged as required. A bricklayer/builder who wishes to sponsor a student must give written notice to NMIT that he or she intends to apprentice the student when they successfully complete their sixteen weeks program. Every effort is made by teaching staff to find employment for unsponsored students.

Student assessment will combine progressive testing and internal assessment.
