The Apprenticeship in rural production is designed to develop a range of skills in animal health, husbandry and handling as well as tasks associated with pasture and crop production, agricultural vehicle, machinery and equipment operations.

Course Outline:

The course is an integrated on and off-the-job program of up to 3 years duration. (The hours of training are subject to which units are chosen by the apprentice, employer and trainer.) Contact the department for units of competency available.

On completion of an Agricultural Apprenticeship students can undertake training in the Certificate IV in Agriculture, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Agriculture courses.

Assessment methods for this course include: written activities, oral activities, written and oral tests, and practical exercises.
