This program comprises the Certificate III in Education Support offered in conjunction with modules from the English for Teacher Aide stream of the Certificate III in ESL (Employment).
This course qualifies you to works as a teacher aide or education support worker as well as offering English language support.
The Certificate III in ESL (Employment) offers a pathway to employment where your bilingual skills would be highly valued in our multi-cultural classrooms. As part of the course, students complete work placement in an education facility that enables them to practise their skills and develop networks for future work.
Teacher aide work is ideal for someone needing to be home early for school aged children.
This course enables you to work in a range of education settings including public and independent schools, and community education settings that provide assistance and support to teachers and students under broad-based supervision.On successful completion of the course, you will attain the Certificate III in Education Support, together with modules from the Certificate III in ESL (Employment).
The course will focus on developing expertise as an education support worker together with English and employability skills for the Australian workplace, and also includes a first aid certificate.
Students will participate in:
- research and presentation projects
- work placements
- lectures from guest speakers
- visits to schools and child care centres
- visits to community-based service providers in the education sector
- computer tasks
- individual and group work
The Vocational Pathways Department also offers other levels and streams of the Certificate II and III in ESL (Employment), together with modules offered by departments in Hospitality, Childcare, Aged Care and Community Services Work.
