This qualification is for workers who assist health professionals with client care. Certificate III in Health Service Assistance is a training package for health workers who have supervised contact with clients.

This qualification has been structured with mandatory electives to cover specific work function in operating theatre support, and recommended electives for assisting in nursing clients in acute care. The course focuses on the multi-skilling requirements of small and remote work environments. Certificate III in Health Service Assistance has mandatory and recommended electives for operating-theatre technicians, working with acute-care patients, work relationships, client care, transport, operating-theatre support, mortuary practice, support and first aid.
