The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) provides up to 510 hours of basic English language tuition to migrants and refugees from non-English speaking backgrounds.
The program is designed to help newly-arrived migrants and refugees settle successfully in Australia and take up employment, training or further education. The course is customised to meet the individual learning needs of newly arrived migrants.

Entrance Requirements
Applicants must be permanent residents of Australia and have registered with AMEP within three months of arrival in Australia, or within three months of receiving permanent resident status.

Various forms of assessment may be used including: Teacher observation, Completion of written work, Completion of written/verbal responses to texts, Participation in class/group activities.
