The Certificate IV in Agriculture course is designed to skill participants in a wide range of skills such as:

  • machinery and equipment operations
  • maintenance of machinery
  • equipment and structures
  • property management
  • animal health
  • husbandry and handling of animals
  • animal nutrition requirements
  • pasture and fodder production.

Pathways to Further Study

This course is equivalent to post trade level and articulates into the Diploma of Agriculture course. Successful completion of this course will gain a one year credit of the Diploma of Agriculture.

Graduates of this course may gain entry into a wide range of occupations in the beef cattle, sheep, wool, goat, horse, grain and dairy primary industry sectors. This may vary from being a supervisor on a rural property through to employment in many associated agribusinesses.

Entrance Requirements

There are no prerequisite studies, however successful completion of a Certificate II in Agriculture as part of the VET in Schools program, a VCE Agriculture/Horticulture program to Level 2, or relevant industry experience, will provide a sound basis which may lead to a reduction of the course duration.
