This program is for adults of non-English speaking background at upper intermediate to advanced level, who want to develop their English for work, study or social purposes.

Program content is dependent on the needs of students and topics covered depend on the availability of resources.

Pathways to Further Study

Students who achieve a Certificate IV in ESL are able to apply for courses in further study. However, students intending to go on to mainstream courses are strongly advised to complete the Further Study stream of the Certificate.

All applicants are interviewed before placement in the program.

Assessment Methods

There are no exams. Assessment is continuous and ongoing, focusing on the process of learning as well as the competency requirements of the modules of the ESL Framework. As part of the assessment, students develop a folio of work.
