NMIT’s Certificate IV in Music Performance is designed to train musicians for improved musicianship while gaining extensive experience in performance and preparing you for Industry and/or further study.
More one-on-one training than any other program
Throughout the program, you will receive intense one-on-one tuition on your principal instrument, and be given the opportunity to gain work experience in the music industry as part of your training. You will also network extensively with other musicians and students from music business, live production, sound production, and screen and media courses, helping you establish long lasting professional relationships from your first day.

Students can continue their studies and do the Advanced Diploma of Music or the Bachelor of Music.

Entrance Requirements
Local Students:
Entrance is via VTAC Application and also requires an audition, interview and theory test at NMIT (book online). Auditions are held in from October to early December. Experienced industry practitioners and/or applicants with previous qualifications at the relevant level may gain entry directly into Year 2 Advanced Diploma of Music. International Students:
Australian Year 12 (or recognised equivalent) or relevant work experience. IELTS 5.5 or higher (or recognised equivalents). Mature Age. A recorded audition must also be supplied with your application, this may be uploaded to a website, or provided on CD.Materials

Local Students
Full-time:
Entrance is via VTAC only and requires an audition, interview and theory test.
Applicants will be required to book an audition/interview online between August and November, or by contacting the department.
Auditions/interviews are held from October to early December, and applicants must attend to be considered for the program.
Highly experienced practitioners may gain direct entry into the Advanced Diploma.
