Diploma of Government is a nationally accredited course designed for people working in and with public sector agencies.

The Diploma of Government course provides skills and competencies to ensure personal success through enhanced career prospects and job opportunities and is designed for anyone working as a team leader/manager in the Public Sector, or planning to boost their career prospects or someone wishing to obtain employment in any government department.

You can formalize and enhance your existing skills and develop a new understanding of Government Processes, working with legislation, finance and management skills. There is an inbuilt facility for skills recognition.


Flexible (online) delivery
Training is provided using a mixture of self-paced resources and online activities to provide maximum flexibility for learners.
This mode is especially useful for people who:

  • want study to fit into their lifestyle
  • have family commitments
  • cannot commit to attending a class at the same time each week

Course Units note: PSPFIN401A-Use public sector financial processes; additional elective has been added as it is needed to provide basic understanding of finance within the Public Sector.

Participants completing the Diploma of Government may gain credits towards the Diploma of Management or the Advanced Diploma of Government.

Career Opportunities

Diploma of Government graduates are highly valued within the Public Sector and some Government Departments are including the qualification in their career path structures.

Entrance Requirements

There are no prerequisites for this qualification however competency at business standard literacy and numeracy.
