This VCAL (Intermediate) course is offered through the Youth Unit.

Intermediate VCAL is an accredited senior school completion certificate suitable for students who require supported development of literacy, numeracy and communication skills in order to go onto further study, apprenticeships or employment.

Students are required to participate in a work experience program during the year. Careers counselling will be an integral part of the program.

NMIT also offers other VCAL programs through the Youth Unit.

Students who successfully complete the course will be eligible to apply for a range of TAFE courses, pre-apprenticeships, traineeships or employment.

Entrance Requirements

Students must be at least 16 years old, and have not completed Year 12. Applicants will be interviewed on an ongoing basis. Enrolments will be undertaken through November to January.

Material fee applies. Students need to supply basic stationery requirements. Some equipment may need to be purchased for industry specific modules.
