NMIT's Higher Education Equine Studies program provides specialised knowledge of equine business management and a broad knowledge of the diverse sectors of the national and international equine industry with all their new developments and practices. Along with this knowledge, the course develops the ability to work professionally and productively in the equine industry.
The institution has made a significant contribution to the industry since 1994. During that time NMIT has established a 300-hectare thoroughbred stud farm, Northern Lodge. The lodge is a renowned training centre for equine studies and has a strong reputation in the industry. NMIT is the only Victorian TAFE institute to establish a full-time course in equine studies at bachelor degree level.
