Primary Industries offers an exciting suite of degrees focussing on three specialised study areas including:

In 2012, a new learning structure was introduced to give students who want a career in Primary Industries an even more inspiring experience.

Programs are based at NMIT's Epping Campus and surrounding training centres, which boast world-class facilities for hands-on learning, including a working aquaculture centre and winery, vineyards, horse stud and farms.

The new structure promotes interaction amongst students completing the various Primary Industries degrees by studying the same core subjects.

Students also have the opportunity to tailor their degree to suit them by choosing from elective subjects that are either specific to their course, specific to Primary Industries or from any of NMIT's other HE programs in Business, Creative Arts (Music, Illustration, Writing and Publishing), Hospitality and Education.

“It is our goal to ensure NMIT graduates are skilled, practical, flexible and solution orientated. NMIT is in a unique position to work with industry specialists to ensure that graduates are prepared to contribute immediately to the Primary Industries community in Australia,” explains Dr Damien Adcock, Head of Department, Higher Education Primary Industries.

“The new course structure will provide a learning experience for students that allows the freedom to diversify their skills set in an area of their choice and develop the academic, interpersonal and teamwork skills needed for employment within Primary Industries.”
