[Darren Steffen]: Hi. I'm Darren Steffen. I'm the Program Co-ordinator of studies in Screen and Media here at NMIT at the Collingwood campus.
[Corinne Maxfield]: What I like most about working for NMIT is the great opportunities you get to work with industry.
[Helena Williams]: I've been fortunate to do a lot of professional development in my time here. I've been involved in individual professional development activities around teaching. I've been involved with lots of team building activities which has been really good for staff morale.
[Corinne Maxfield]: it gives me opportunities to work internationally. I Have been teaching overseas in Shanghai, China; in Seoul, Korea; and also I've taught in Cambodia which was a fantastic experience.
[Darren Steffen]: Through the TAFE development Centre I was fortunate enough to be selected as a TAFE fellow and that involved a whole heap of professional development activities, interaction with professionals from other TAFE institutes, and also some financial support for some study: I did a graduate diploma.
[Matt Clayton]: I did my Diploma of Agriculture in 2001-2002. I then stayed and worked at NMIT at their agricultural farm at Yan Yean for two years, and then I went out into industry for two years and then I've come back and taken up the brood mare breeding position at Northern Lodge.
[Helena Williams]: Lots of opportunities to expand your skills and then opportunities to actually use them.
[Kate Osmond]: NMIT has four commercial vineyards: in Eden Park, Ararat, Yarra Glen and the Growling Frog. We sell our wine to the general public and they're basicly walk-ins, as well as staff members through the intranet. We also have a meat processing facility up at the Epping Campus and have just started sales to staff both with beef and lamb packs.
[Jane Kypreos]: After I graduated from university I went and worked in industry for a large accounting firm for two years but my passion was always to teach so I then went off and did my graduate diploma of education and ended up teaching here at the Collingwood campus of NMIT.
[Donald Warren]: So when the opportunity came I decided to make a bit of a career change. I looked at doing my Cert IV there and I did that and again still enjoyed the course and what NMIT had to offer. When the opportunity came for me to work there, I really jumped at the chance. I thought it was a great opportunity.
[Phil Tripp]: NMIT have always been the leader in having their staff fully trained and compliant with AQTF standards.
[Jane Kypreos]: Look, I think NMIT is a great place to work. I think the support we have here is fantastic; I've always felt supported by my Head of Department and likewise by my Associate Director. And I think that if you feel in the workplace that your supported by the people above you it really helps you to do a good job. I think NMIT is a great place to work.
