"My name is Bruce Burns. I'm the Associate Director for the Faculty of Engineering. In 1987 I started at NMIT in the Electrical Trades Department. That was after 12 years of industry experience as an electrician." - Bruce Burns Associate Director, Faculty of Engineering.

"I'd always planned to come and do teaching. Had terms and conditions better than industry.

"We are genuinely looking for a person, one who has got the academic qualifications and the industry experience which is critical to us. But also we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, who is what they call a good team player, and someone who can fit in."

"I believe, given my own experiences, that NMIT has been for myself a wonderful place to work. I've had great opportunities. It gave me opportunities to obviously have time to still be able to spend with my kids while they were growing up, given the flexibility."
