"My name is Bruce Burns. I'm the Associate Director for the Faculty of Engineering. In 1987 I started at NMIT in the Electrical Trades Department. That was after 12 years of industry experience as an electrician." - Bruce Burns Associate Director, Faculty of Engineering.
"I think NMIT is a great place to work. For such a large institute, I think we have about 1600 people, there really is a strong community feel." - Megan Stirton, Human Resources Officer.
"As a parent and working full-time I feel really supported working at NMIT in terms of how I manage my life and my work. I know that if my kids are sick then I can ring work and say 'Look I can't come in today' and there are no repercussions, I don't feel bad, that I've let the team down that I've not been able to come in." - Karen Cook, Student Services.
"My name is Stuart. I'm a teacher in the Massage and Myotherapy Centre at NMIT on the Preston Campus. For me, in order to be able to get up and go to work every day I think I need to very very much enjoy my job. And I really do genuinely enjoy it for the fact that I can get up and see the students...." - Stuart Hicks, teacher Massage and Myotherapy.
"All of our facilities are industry standard and really impressive. So I know that if we need new equipment or we want recreation furniture to be supplied to students, it's available well and truly." - Karen Cook, Student Services:
"We've done very well for equipment, I must say. All our rooms are fully equiped ready to play in." - Andrew Gannon, Music Department at Greensborough Campus.
"My name is Nick Haywood and I'm the Senior Lecturer, Head of Music Higher Education Program here at NMIT. Several of our staff have won multiple ARIA awards and other various things." - Nick Haywood, Senior Lecturer and Head of Music Higher Education.
"The Student Activities Department is quite supportive for all professional development courses that I do. So I'll pick a course that they see is sufficient for me to do that is going to have a benefit in regard to the NMIT Centre, and they'll be very supportive of me enrolling in that course." - Eugene Scarpino, Reacreation Officer
"Staff and students are treated extremely fairly. It is an important factor in life these days, particularly because we are so multicultural." - Rosie Bianchi, Awards Officer.
"I've worked at a number of TAFE colleges and I have found that NMIT is by far the more professional than some of these others I have worked with." - Jim Crockett, Mechanical Manufacturing Department.
"They have certainly looked after me, as I have been here for 9 years.... The benefits from the college and the people around me: my boss and, it's a great atmosphere to work in." - Anthony Madiona, Academic Registry.
"We are genuinely looking for a person, one who has got the academic qualifications and the industry experience which is critical to us. But also we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, who is what they call a good team player, and someone who can fit in, and someone who has got some drive, and someone who you can see is going to have a long term career at NMIT." - Bruce Burns.
