Inventor is a parametric 3D solid modelling CAD package specifically designed to suit component and multi-part assemblies. Inventor offers a more visual and flexible approach to modelling with a focus on ease of use and productivity gain compared to other 3D modelling techniques; it is also an alternative to traditional 2D modelling packages.

This short course introduces the basic features and capabilities of Inventor so parts, assemblies and drawing documentation can be created. No previous computer drafting experience is required to learn how to use Inventor and one-on-one tuition is provided during the class to help students. This course is suited to those working or studying in manufacturing design.

Topics include: sketched features; placed features; work planes, axis and points; assemblies and constraints; motion, interference checking and modelling; drawing view; drawing templates and bill of materials.
