NMIT (Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE) is offering an Aquaculture Health and Handling course, which is designed to give participants practical knowledge and understanding of the maintenance and management of aquatic animal health in aquaculture production systems.

• Detection and diagnosis of diseases
• Viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic diseases
• Nutritional diseases
• Aquaculture pests and predators
• Treatment action plans and control measures
• Anaesthesia of stock
• Application of chemicals and related legislation
• Preparation of stock for live transport
• Harvesting and handling techniques
• Co-ordination of stock handling activities
• Optimisation of feed uptake
