Open Registration permits all types oftelecommunications and data cabling to be installed on the customer's side of the network boundary in domestic, commercial and industrial premises including multi-building campus environments.

Prerequisites: This course is suitable for qualified electricians, carrier-trained technicians / lines persons (i.e. Telstra) or persons with equivalent qualifications who have an aggregated six months relevant cabling experience.

Relevant cabling experience means experience in installing telecommunications, electrical, data, security alarm, fire alarm, or lift cables. If you don't fall within any of these categories you will require an assessment by a workplace / RPL assessor to determine other modules required to meet ACA Open Registration competency standards.

Career / study pathways: At the end of the course, successful trainees will receive Statements of Attainment for: National Telecommunications Training Package modules: NTC004, NTC014, NTC017, NTC111 and Competency Certificate ICTTC137A. Under the ACA's Cabling Provider Rules these certificates are recognised by all ACA Registrars for Open Registration Cabling.
