This course is designed for individuals who want to better manage their pastures and optimise production from their livestock. It provides practical skills and background knowledge about how pastures and livestock interact.

Topics include:

  • Pasture and animal assessment
  • Feed Budgeting
  • Using fodder crops to increase stocking rate
  • Recognising plant species
  • How pastures grow
  • Fodder conservation
  • Managing weeds with livestock
  • Achieving livestock production targets
  • The course is composed of a unit that is part of the National Rural Production Training package. By successfully completing this short course, students accrue units towards gaining a nationally recognised qualification in Agriculture (eg. Certificates I - IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma)

Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
