If you are a qualified, licensed electrician and you want to learn how to plan, configure and install photovoltaic systems safely to the power grid, then let NMIT’s Grid Connect Install short course help you get ahead.

The course’s theory and practical components develop skills necessary for accreditation, and as an installer your customers will be able to claim the government rebate. This will allow customers to enjoy generating their own power and minimising their electricity consumption from the grid.

Topics include:

  • Occupational Health and Safety principles
  • electrical safe working practice
  • photovoltaic power systems
  • grid connected inverters.

At the end of the course participants will be able to connect renewable energy technologies to the power grid according to industry guidelines and approved safety standards.

Course details:

The course is conducted over four days.

Please call 03 9269 8615 or 03 269 8620 for bookings and more information.

On completion of the course, participants will receive a statement of attainment for the following nationally recognised units of competency:

UEENEEK125A Solve basic problems in photovoltaic energy apparatus and systems
UEENEEK148A Install, configure and commission LV grid connected photovoltaic power systems

Participants can then present their statement of attainment to the Clean Energy Council (formerly Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) to apply for accreditation.
