Are your portable electrical appliances and extension leads safe? Many electrical accidents have been caused by damaged portable appliances and extension cords. In-service inspection and testing provides a cost-effective approach to safety without excessive equipment down time or jeopardising personnel safety.

If you need to be able to correctly test and tag portable electrical equipment, this course covers the principle requirements specified in Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760:2003 and is ideal for organisations developing OH&S procedures in this area.

Topics include: personal safety; basic electrical terminology; Australian/New Zealand standard AS/NZS 3760; inspecting and testing equipment; tagging and document control; insulation resistance and continuity test; and using the Insulation Resistance & Continuity Tester and the Portable Appliance Tester.
