  • Certificate III in ESL Employment - English for Hospitality


The Certificate III English for Hospitality is designed for students who want to work in the hospitality industry. This new course was developed in conjunction with the Hospitality Department. Students also enrol in the Certificate II in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations).

  • Certificate III in ESL Employment - English for Bilingual Health Workers


The Certificate III English for Bilingual Health Workers is a one semester long course offered at the Collingwood Campus. It will give students an overview of health related issues and employment opportunities and pathways.

Certificate I in General Education for Adults (Introductory) - Vocational Pathways Department

The program is for adults who left school in their lower or secondary school years or who missed opportunities to learn. It aims to further develop participants' reading and writing, numeracy, oral communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Certificate II in General Education for Adults (CGEA) - Vocational Pathways Department

The program is for adults who left school in their lower or secondary school years or who missed opportunities to learn. It aims to further develop participants' reading and writing, numeracy, oral communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Certificate III in ESL (Employment)

This program is delivered through the ESL Framework. It is a program for adults of non-English speaking background at intermediate level.

Certificate III in ESL (Employment) - English for Aged Care - Vocational Pathways Department

The Certificate III English for Aged Care is designed for students who want to work in the aged-care industry. This course was developed in conjunction with the Health and Community Studies (HACS) department.

Certificate III in ESL (Employment) - English For Bilingual Community Work - Vocational Pathways Department

The Certificate III in ESL Employment - English for Bilingual Community Work is designed for students that want to work in the community sector using their language and cultural skills as bilingual workers. The course was developed by NMIT in 2004 as a response to the need for community workers who are bilingual.

Certificate III in ESL (Employment) - English for Child Care - Vocational Pathways Department

The Certificate III in ESL Employment - English for Child Care is designed for students who want to work in the child care industry. This is a new course developed in conjunction with the Health and Community Studies (HACS) department. It is aimed at students whose English is around intermediate level who would benefit from English language support based on the content of the Certificate II in Community Services (Children’s Services).

This program is for adults of non-English speaking background at upper intermediate to advanced level, who want to develop their English for work, study or social purposes.
