Computer network professionals are always in demand. Learn the fundamentals of the internet and other computer networks including architecture, structure, functions, components and models. NMIT’s CISCO Program consists of two streams, Professional and Associate, each consisting of four modules for the qualification of CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
The program trains participants in the skills needed to design, deploy and maintain complex networking infrastructure. The program provides students the opportunity to enter the workforce or further their education and training in the computer Internet working field.
Areas of study include:
- network fundamentals
- routing protocols
- LAN switching
- Accessing the WAN
In addition, the CISCO Training CCNP Program prepares you for the completion of a CCNP industry standard certificate.
Available Short Courses (5)
CISCO Training CCNA 3 LAN Switching and Wireless
Learn the technologies and protocols needed to design and implement a converged switched network through this comprehensive, theoretical and practical course. Topics include: hierarchical network design; selection of devices for layers; switch configuration; virtual LANs, VTP and inter-VLAN routing in a converged network; implementing Spanning Tree Protocol; and implementation of a WLAN in a small to medium network. This module can be taken individually or together with three other modules - CCNA 1 Network Fundamentals, CCNA 2 Routing Protocols and Concepts, and CCNA 4 Accessing the WAN - to attain the CISCO Training certification.
CISCO Training CCNA 4 Accessing the WAN
This course discusses the WAN technologies and network services required by converged application in enterprise networks. The course uses the Cisco Network architecture to introduce integrated network servifes sand explains how to select the appropriate devices and technologies to meet network requirements. Topics include: how to implement and configure common data link protocols; how to apply WAN security concepts; principles of traffic, access control and addressing services; how to detect, troubleshoot and correct common enterprise network implementation issues. This module can be taken individually or together with three other modules - CCNA 1 Network Fundamentals, CCNA 2 Routing Protocols and Concepts and CCNA 3 LAN Switching and Wireless - to attain the CISCO Training certification.
CISCO Training
The Cisco Training Program for the Network Associate (CCNA) qualificatiion- consists of four modules. Provides skills for success in networking-related degree programs, as well as preparation for CISCO CCNA® certification. Develops skills necessary to fulfil the job responsibilities of network technicians, network administrators and network engineers. Provides a theoretically-rich, hands-on introduction to networking and the Internet.
CISCO Training CCNA 2 Routing Protocols and Concepts
Participants learn about the architecture, components and operation of routers, and the principles of routing and routing protocols. By the end of this course, you will be able to recognise and correct common routing issues and problems. Topics include: analysing, configuring, verifying and troubleshooting primary routing protocols RIPv1, RIPv2, EIGRP and OSPF; procedural lab; configuration, implementation and troubleshooting labs; modelling and analysing routing processes through Packet Tracer activities. This module can be taken individually or together with three other modules - CCNA 1 Network Fundamentals, CCNA 3 LAN Switching and Wireless, and CCNA 4 Accessing the WAN - to attain the CISCO Training certification.
CISCO Training CCNA 1 Network Fundamentals
Computer network professionals are always in demand. Learn the fundamentals of the internet and other computer networks including architecture, structure, functions, components and models. This course uses OSI and TCP layered models to examine the nature and roles of protocols and services in application, network, data link and physical layers. This module can be taken individually or together with three other modules - CCNA 2 Routing Protocols and Concepts, CCNA 3 LAN Switching and Wireless, and CCNA 4 Accessing the WAN - to attain the CISCO Training certification.
