This Certificate III in ESL (Access) is offered through the Vocational Pathways Department. This intermediate level course is for adults of non-English speaking background. Introduction to Trade Skills ESL (VCAL YAMEC)

If you are looking to enter the trades between 15 and 26 years of age, from a non-English speaking background, but can write and speak English and have had disrupted, incomplete or no prior education, NMIT’s Introduction to Trade Skills (VCAL) will help to prepare you for further training or employment in the building and construction industry.

This course qualifies you to works as a teacher aide or education support worker as well as offering English language support. Part-Time Evening course
This part time evening course comprises of three nationally recognised modules offered through the Vocational Pathways Department. Successful completion of these modules will gain you credit towards achieving the Certificate IV in ESL (Access). If your English language and literacy skills are at upper immediate to advanced level, you can develop them further. Learn skills that will help you in the workplace, study and training, and the community.
Certificate II in ESL (Employment)
English for Hospitality
This program comprises the English for Hospitality stream of the Certificate II in ESL (Employment). If you would like a career in hospitality, concentrating on the area of cookery, this course can give you the skills you need. This English language course also involves 7 hours per week of practical kitchen work, plus 3 hours per week of hospitality theory. Employment opportunities are excellent, and may lead to work in hospitals, nursing homes, hotels or restaurants. The Vocational Pathways Department also offers other ESL streams of the Certificate II and III in ESL (Employment).

English for Child Care
This program comprises the English for Child Care stream of the Certificate III in ESL (Employment). This English language course is designed for students who want to work in the child care industry, and will help improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills while training to work in child care. Participants study the Certificate III in ESL (Employment) for three days a week and two days a week study the Certificate III in Children’s Services.

This course offers English language support and also qualifies you to work as a teacher aide or education support worker. General
This program is designed for adults of non-English speaking background at intermediate level. It is a six month course designed for students who want to improve their English language skills for employment or for vocational training in TAFE.
Certificate IV in ESL (Employment/Professional)
Overseas Qualified Professionals (OQP) Victoria
The Certificate IV in ESL (Employment/ Professional) is offered through the Vocational Pathways Department’s Overseas Qualified Professionals (OQP) Victoria program. This course provides overseas qualified professional people with an introduction to the Australian workplace and labour market, and the opportunity to undertake an industry placement.
Certificate III in ESL (Further Study)
This Certificate III in ESL (Further Study) is offered through the Vocational Pathways Department and is taken in conjunction with the Certificate II in General Education for Adults (CGEA). You will benefit from this course if you are an adult of non-English speaking background and at an intermediate level of English.
Certificate IV in ESL (Further Study)
The Certificate IV in ESL (Further Study) is offered through the Vocational Pathways Department. The Certificate IV in ESL (Further Study) is taken in conjunction with modules from the Certificate III in General Education for Adults (CGEA). You will want to do this course if your English language and literacy skills are at upper immediate to advanced level and you wish to develop them further. Learn skills that will help you in the workplace, study and training, and the community.
VCAL ESL YAMEC
