Forklift Operator's Licence (Training Program)
The Forklift Operator's Licence Training Program is designed to provide you with the necessary skills to work in the warehousing industry. Gain practical experience in tasks such as forklift operation and stock dispatch. Choose either an evening course over three weeks or a full-time course completed over five days.
Course in Basic Earthmoving
This course offers you the opportunity to gain the basic skills and knowledge to operate earthmoving equipment such as excavator, backhoe, loader or skid steer, and teaches you about safety, government standards and regulations relating to the operation of these machines. If you like operating big machinery and working in the great outdoors, earthmoving could be just the ticket! Did the earth move for you? Students will attain the nationally recognised unit of competency VBQU205 Operate Earthmoving Equipment Safely.
Certificate II in Bicycles
Designed to allow students to work as a bicycle mechanic within a retail environment or equivalent. Teaches servicing and minor repairs of bikes, including servicing of wheel hubs, mechanical and hydraulic braking systems, steering, suspension and drive train systems. Removing, fitting and minor repairs to tyres, wheels and fitting of accessories may be included.
Certificate III in Bicycles
Designed for bicycle mechanics who want to undertake full repair and servicing of bikes including diagnosing problems, repair and servicing of wheel hubs, mechanical and hydraulic braking systems, steering, suspension and drive train systems, wheel repair, frames and fitting accessories. Customer-related activities will also be undertaken.
Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations
Learn the skills to work in the civil construction industry, from forklift driving, to earthmoving to construction plant operation. Civil construction offers many lucrative and rewarding opportunities for career advancement, and NMIT’s on-site training in real-life work situations will help get you there.
Certificate III in Road Construction and Maintenance
Covers a wide range of topics enabling students to gain and develop knowledge in both theoretical and practical aspects of road construction and maintenance in the civil construction industry. Areas of study include: small plant and equipment to underground services to earth works and road paving. Career options include: civil contractor / road crew member.
Certificate III in Warehousing Operations
This course is designed to provide the necessary skills required for the warehousing industry. Graduates may be able to gain employment in logistics management, as well as operational roles in the transport, warehousing and storage industries.
