Advanced Diploma of Creative Product Development

The Advanced Diploma of Creative Product Development provides students with the opportunity to extend their knowledge gained at a previous diploma level qualification in the creative arts, design or photography fields. It is an extension of the knowledge and skills already acquired in the chosen creative discipline and builds on these in line with industry practice.

Certificate IV in Design

The Certificate IV is an entry level course for people who have a passion and flair for design. The course investigates creative areas such as product design, graphic design, illustration, digital imaging, animation, fashion design, web design, photography and painting.

Certificate IV in Photoimaging

The Certificate IV in Photoimaging is an embedded exit point at the first year of the Diploma of Photoimaging (or part-time equivalent to full-time study). Apply for a dual qualification upon completion of the diploma. Areas of study include Photo-Design, Studio and location Photography ,Lighting, Colour management, Digital workflow, Fine printing techniques, Conceptual critical thinking, Multimedia, Graphic design, web design, Business and Marketing, Industry networking and placement.

Diploma of Photoimaging

Incorporates the Certificate IV within the first year of full-time studies (or part-time equivalent). Apply for a dual qualification upon graduating. Areas of study include photo design, studio and location photography, lighting, colour management, digital workflow, fine printing techniques, conceptual critical thinking, multimedia, graphic design, web design, business and marketing, industry networking and placement.

Basic Digital Camera

Do you want to progress from conventional film photography to digital capture? Do you feel overwhelmed by the vast array of makes and models and peripheral hardware and software? NMIT’s staff will demystify the digital jargon and help you make the right decisions in your selection of equipment.

Black and White Photo Techniques

If black and white photography is what you want to focus on, this short course gives you the chance to do just that. You will gain the expertise and confidence to consistently produce high quality black and white prints. You can also build a folio that will allow you to apply for further study if you wish.

Photojournalism

Photojournalism is an exciting field that uses images to tell a news story. If you're a practicing photographer who wants to diversify into photojournalism, this course will give you an introduction to approaches specific to media photography. Areas covered include: research, preparation, shooting, filing, and career strategies.

Certificate in Practical Photography - Folio Preparation

Develop your skills and knowledge in photography. Use these for your current employment or towards further study and eventually a new career in photography. You will gain a certificate and build a folio that you can use to apply for courses. NMIT’s studios and darkroom at our Fairfield have excellent facilities.

Workplace Photoimaging

NMIT’s course will provide you with skills and knowledge to take quality photographic images for a variety of work-related needs including work in: advertising, public relations, portraiture and documentation.
