Screen and Media Programs at NMIT are designed for students looking to develop or enhance existing skills in TV broadcasting and video production.
Students work in state-of-the-art HD Broadcast production studios. Activities include non-linear editing on AVID Media Composer and Final Cut Pro and direct experience in computer-based workflows, similar to the latest studio facilities around the world.
NMIT also boasts Australia's first educational installation of a hard drive based recording and playback system (an EVS) utilised at all major sporting events around the world from Grand Slam tennis, the FIFA World Cup to the Olympic Games in Athens.

The Certificate IV in Screen and Media is an embedded exit point within the first year of the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media. Diploma of Screen and Media
The Diploma of Screen and Media is offered as a part-time course. Broadcast television – including traditional free-to-air, pay and internet based distribution and high-end corporate video production - is the growth area of the film and television production industry in Australia. If the prospect of creating and broadcasting content for TV, web or film excites you, then tasks you will need to master include being able to shoot, edit, direct camera and lighting set-ups and produce segments and programs. NMIT’s modern broadcast studio creates a realistic environment.
Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media
Designed for people currently working or intending to work in video production and broadcasting, the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media comprises the second year of a two-year full-time course. The first year of this course comprises the Certificate IV in Screen and Media. Career options include camera operator, editor, director, floor manager and lighting assistant. Students have access to NMIT’s high-definition television studios and industry-standard equipment.
