Certificate III in Events
If you love organising functions and events and would like to work in the tourism industry, NMIT’s Certificate III in Events is for you. You can learn skills vital to running successful events and tourism businesses, from basic business practices to assisting in the management of projects. You will be able to do support roles in an office environment.
Diploma of Events
The course aims to provide participants with the practical and theoretical knowledge in the area of events, specialising in hospitality and venue management. The Diploma of Events provides practical training in food and beverage service, hospitality supervision and management, and the organisation and management of special events, meetings and conventions. The Diploma of Events can be completed as a standalone course with pathways into the Advanced Diploma of Events, or in conjunction with the Diploma of Hospitality to achieve a dual qualification. Please contact the Hospitality and Tourism Department if you wish to enrol in the dual qualification.

This course provides participants with highly specialised event management skills.
Certificate III in Holiday Parks and Resorts
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a range of skills required in the operation of holiday parks and resorts. Work in a front office, housekeeping or grounds maintenance environment.
Diploma of Holiday Parks and Resorts
This nationally recognised course provides participants with a broad range of managerial skills related to the tourism sector, with a focus on holiday parks and resorts.
Certificate III in Tourism
Provides well-developed operational skills in tourism planning and information assistance. Areas of study will include tourism industry knowledge, online information systems, event industry knowledge and event staging support.
Diploma of Tourism
Provides well-developed managerial skills in tourism operations, marketing and product development. Develops skills for planning, carrying out, and evaluating operations in a wide variety of tourism contexts. NMIT offers exciting field trips to tourism attractions and sites as a vital component of the course learning. The Diploma of Tourism incorporates the Certificate IV in Tourism SIT40207 within the first year of study.
Advanced Diploma of Tourism
This qualification can be used in all types of tourism. You will develop abilities in: strategy, operations, planning, communication, sales, marketing, human resources and financial management. In particular, you will learn about: e-business and e-marketing; website strategy; working as guide; tour commentaries; local and regional tourism; and ecological sustainability.
